

Yeah, the thing with procedural content is that, generally speaking, once you've seen all the individual pieces, you've seen them all. Sure you get planets with monsters and some space pirates, but the AI programming from a team of 4 isn't going to make the galaxy feel very "lived-in". Someone feel free to correct me if you read it differently, but that deflated my excitement a little bit. Unfortunately the RPS interview makes it sound like it's only single player, and the multiplayer components are all asynchronous Demon/Dark Souls style where people affect your world but never play with you. Maybe I just have an overactive imagination I think that could be pretty cool, and would give the game legs and longer life. I think if they could someone how throw incentives in for teaming up, maybe some monsters require a few people to work together, and this could lead to groups roaming sectors of space.


It gets more difficult the further you go in, so i assume there is some form of fighting? I watched a video on Gamespot with fellow paddy Danny O Dywer and some other dude and they had a bit of time with the game and the devs, and like you said SituationSoap, the goal seams to be to get to the centre of the galaxy.
